Mark and Roger joined together to meticullously build this Freedom 17-foot 9-inch beauty!

This delightful father/son team traveled from Washington (state) and Cincinatti to spend the week together turning a few woodstrips and lots of glue into this work of art! Mark took the canoe home to do the final sanding and varnishing steps, and then plans to deliver it to Roger soon thereafter.

Mark hopes to use his new-found experience and knowledge to build his own canoe when time allows! Our best wishes to BOTH of them.

In their younger years, Mark and Roger (and other family) spent many a good time camping together. So, Mark & Roger elected to drive to Lake Kanopolis every night during the build to sleep under the stars (or as close to the stars as their van allowed). With Lake Kanopolis being at an all-time low, they kept asking us where the lake was! We're still scouting, guys...and waiting for rain!
